What we believe...
There is one God,
who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Luke 3:22 He is the creator of all things seen and unseen. Genesis 1
Jesus Christ
was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died upon the cross and because he was fully man and fully God, all who believe and obey Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of God the Father on High as our Great High Priest. Matthew 1:18-20; I Corinthians 15:1-4; Ephesians 1:20.
The Holy Spirit
is a divine person, sent to reveal all truth to the apostles, to empower the believer, and convince the world of sin, of righteousness and judgment. Luke 12:12; John 16:8.
The Old and New Testaments,
inerrant as originally given, were inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of mankind. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16.
Man
was originally created in the image and likeness of God; he fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. Genesis 1:26.
Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men;
and those who believe and repent, they are given forgiveness of sins and are thereby born again of the spirit, and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, and become the children of God. Acts 4:12; Acts 2:38.
Baptism
is an outward sign of an inward change done in conjunction with repentance as an act to mark the beginning of new life as a result of salvation.
The Church
consists of all those who are added by God upon their faith and obedience. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all nations. Acts 2:47; Ephesians 5:23; Matthew 16:15-16.
The local church
is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, edification through the Word of God, prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the Gospel, observance of the Lord's Supper and "all things that Jesus commanded". Each local church is to be overseen by elders appointed on the basis of qualifications set forth in Timothy and Titus.
There shall be a bodily resurrection
of the just and of the unjust; for the former a resurrection unto life; and the latter, a resurrection unto judgment.
Jesus is coming
to receive His own and to deliver them unto God the Father in heaven. This is the believer's blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service.
Ukraine by the numbers
While over 81% of Ukrainians claim some form of Christianity, most don't attend services even once a month. Most hold barely nominal beliefs and often in conjunction with other worldviews, most notably folk paganism.
Though Ukraine does not have the highest percentage of marriages ending in divorce (compared to 47% in the US), this does not account for the incredibly high number of common law marriages that end in separation, which if made legitimate would raise this number drastically.
Because most people are unaware that Christianity is anything more than a holiday tradition, almost half of Ukrainians report religion not playing any role in their daily lives.
688,000 Ukrainians report being addicted to alcohol of various types. Ukraine is ranked 5th worldwide for alcohol consumption. This has an incredible effect on families and the stability of the society as a whole.
